Meet your Parish and Volunteer!

From vaccuming the church to leading the ministries, your Parish is the work of volunteers - at this time over 120 of your fellow parishioners. What a perfect way to meet others and share in your faith... Consider the following groups, or check out the list of Ministries and know that you are welcome!
Youth Educators
Thank you for considering volunteering to work with the children of our parish.  In order to protect yourself and the children you will be working with, it is necessary that the Diocese of St. Augustine ask you to have a background check, to be fingerprinted and take a course entitled “Protecting God’s Children".

The background check/fingerprinting forms and information on where to complete the forms is available by contacting Sue Ann Nanney at 797-4002. There is a processing fee that is asked. If the cost is a problem, the Parish will absorb the expense. The process
takes just a few minutes but the clearance can take up to 4 weeks. Please let me know as soon as you can if you are interested.

The “Protecting God’s Children" program is a two-hour course on child abuse and how to recognize the signs of it.  This course is free of charge and    is offered frequently throughout the Diocese.  We try to have one here at Corpus Christi as the need demands. Please check to see when the next possible date is available for you to attend. This should be completed before you start to volunteer with thechildren.

Thank you once again for the time you are giving to the children of our parish. They will greatly benefit from your efforts and your rewards will be great - both here and in Heaven!

2. Understanding, because their lives might be very different from your own.

3. Empathy, an ability to put yourself in someone else’s shoes and feel what they must feel.

4. Compassion, to truly care about making someone else’s life better.

5. Patience, because the process doesn’t always go as smoothly as it might.

6. Dedication, to stick with the project and see it through.
